Dreams by Langston Hughes

I chatted with my lovely sister in Bulgaria using Skype this morning. She’s there teaching English for the Peace Corps and she said she taught her students this poem. How cool is she?

By Langston Hughes

For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
