And did those feet in ancient time by William Blake

This is another one suggested by a reader. I’m going out of town for the holiday weekend, but will still try to post a PotD.

And did those feet in ancient time
By William Blake

And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon England’s mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England’s pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold:
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England’s green & pleasant Land.

    Thank-you!
I really do love this, it reminds me so much of England, and how much I miss it.

I miss England, too! The trip I just took last month (my second trip) resonated with me more than the first because we spend so much time in the country (as opposed to London).

My grandparents live in a little village, so going to see them is great, you are surrounded by country and after a 10 minute drive you are in the city. I was there last May, my 8th trip. I miss it so much! It’s weird how I feel so much more at home there when I grew up in Canada. When I go there I feel like I’m home.
